Oh, I love this new print, but we've got no wall space left as I've got enough artwork (other peoples I hasten to add) that still hasn't even yet been unwrapped since it was shipped from London.
Makes it sound like we live in a mansion but its all bubble wrapped under beds behind the sofa, under desks and in other peoples house, temporarily of course.
Hence this one is for sale here at my big cartel shop and is a one of a kind.

My fantastic illustration agent, Jeremy, has been working incredibly hard with the amazing John Mcclennan of Barking Sparrows to put up a new version of the Jacky Winter website.
Brand new things to play with are pdf tear sheets and a new shop, which I've got some lovely special screenprints up in and will have some of my one of a kind prints in later in the year so keep an eye out.
Also there's new sections, motion and lettering.
Check out the animations of Clemens Habicht which are beautiful.

The Jacky Winter Extravaganza

 IMG_5699
uploaded by Jacky Winter

The show went stonkingly well, even though (or perhaps because) I wasnt able to go to Melbourne for it.
There were talking birds and a musical DJ.
See more photos here

So I was a bit gutted that I couldn't check out some of the really great work that was there as well, of course, as tame talking birds.
But a Melbourne adventure is being planned, especially as my old mate Kate Gibb should be over soon and then we can do (drum roll) the 'neighbours' tour.
We're from the UK...... what do you expect?!
Neighbours is how we think (or thought) the Australians lived!
To be truthful though.... no ones proven otherwise and they all think we live like 'Eastenders' or 'to the Manor Born'.

<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/gws-e.jpg" alt="imge" /

For all you lovely people out there, in London, who like a bit of art, a bit of gorgeous clothing, some ceramics and of course demand the best Christmas presents, head down to Great Western Studios for their open weekend, and be sure to go to my old studio and say hello to Lisa Jones and Alice Tait, my old studio mates in studio 28. Warm yourself with mulled Cider whilst I toast myself on the beach and think of you all.

Of course theres all the people I'd be buying my presents off if I was there (and keeping most of them, admittedly).
Zakee Shariff great clothes and screenprints and Kate Gibb amazing screenprints both of whom have been the greatest friends for nearly 20 years (aaaghhhhh!) and are counted as family wether they like it or not.
Lisa and Ed who put up with my wingeing and mood swings for so many years
Alice Tait who always laughed no matter how much ink was splattered onto her side of the studio.
Folk, lovely mens clobber, from the handsome Cathal. (very very handsome Cathal).
Natasha Laflin who will always make you laugh with her cutting wit and so many others that it brings a tear to my eye, not to be there.

If you're really nice to Lisa, she might pull out the stack of old prints of mine she's got hidden, studio 28, dont forget!

I am so SAD

How sad is it that I can get over excited by new screen emulsion.
But I can.

I'm now nursing a bruised ego and a nipped arse, thanks Reggie, but I don't need herding.
So, if you ever need screen supplies and live in inner west Sydney, Peter Leis Pty Ltd in Leichhardt are your people, Peter, Amon and Siobhan have looked after me so well since I arrived in Oz, so a big thankyou to them all for their help, advice and time, well beyond the call of duty.

Whoaaa steady there.

So after a fantastic weekend of sunshine, yesterday being spent on the beach at Maroubra, pretending not to be afraid of potential shark attacks, the weather is now 18 degrees c., and dribbling with rain in a half hearted lazy way as if the weather God has a stonking hangover.
I did the Balmain art fair this weekend which went well, until we went to pick up the prints that I left and a woman said very patronisingly, 'I'm sorry it wasnt very good for you'. I was quite pleased till she said that, and then Mil pipes up 'Yeah, Mum, I'm so sorry you suck.' Sarcastically. And the little lady scuttled away.
I love my son. Ten years old and quicker off the mark than I am (no mean feat I'm telling you).
Anyway, to the the lovely people who bought my screenprints, thankyou very much and I hope you enjoy them.
And heres a new one.
I DONT think it sucks, in fact I really like it.
Limited edition of 50, 5 colours on 250gsm white paper card. Come and get it, or my pride may be so wounded I may end up as bitter and twisted as ******** . You know who you are.

Pinhole Camera

So Milan and I decided to go for a wander in Sydney before the powers that be started to erect the steel fencing and concrete girders to section off the choice bits of the city before APEC.
They have spent some obscene amount of money on a 'rabble proof fence'.
Anyway, I digress, we also went in to test our homemade pinhole camera.
Admittedly we were over excited, but equally pessimistic that we werent going to get anything except camera shake and arrested for our funny little box.
And we very nearly were when a group of what seemed like 30 policemen (ok, maybe 7) stopped to see what we were doing.
I think they thought it weird we hd 35mm film. So, here are the results....
<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/p_h1.jpg" alt="imge" /
<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/p_h2.jpg" alt="imge" /
<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/p_h3.jpg" alt="imge" /
<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/p_h4.jpg" alt="imge" /
<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/p_h5.jpg" alt="imge" /
<img src="http://www.katebanazi.com/rss/p_h6.jpg" alt="imge" /

Not bad for a first attempt, although it might have been better if we'd got the pinhole in the middle!

Visit Miss Jones and Alice too. They have stuff.

Zakee in studio 40 and the lovely people at Folk have clothing stuff, so, all in all, plenty for Christmas.
